Tapered roller split bearings
Tapered roller split bearings have two rows of opposing tapered rollers and conical inner and outer ring raceways. They are designed to carry combined loads, i.e. radial and axial loads acting simultaneously in both directions, and are used to locate the bearing position of the shaft. Their split-piece design makes them convenient for inaccessible applications where installation, removal, and maintenance are challenging. They are usually installed in boxes that fit different types of enclosures. Although these split tapered roller bearings are designed specifically for the marine industry, they can be used in many different industries.
